COPPER

Copper is a handsome Beagle mix, or at least that’s our best guess, with a gentle soul and a quiet charm. He came to us from a hoarding situation involving more than 30 dogs, so he has been through a lot and understandably needs a little time to feel comfortable in new environments and with new people.

He can be shy at first and may not immediately show his full personality, but once he begins to feel safe, his sweet and affectionate side really comes through. Copper enjoys being close to the people he trusts and responds best to patience, kindness, reassurance, and a steady routine. He is not the type of dog who will necessarily run up to a stranger right away, but giving him the space and time to open up makes all the difference.

Copper does well with other friendly dogs and may actually benefit from having a calm, social canine companion in the home. Because he spent so much of his life surrounded by other dogs, being around a well-adjusted dog can help him feel more secure and confident.

He is neutered and ready to begin the next chapter of his life. Copper would do best with a family who understands that trust may take a little time and who is willing to let him settle in at his own pace. After everything he has been through, what he needs most is consistency, patience, and a home where he can finally feel safe.

With the right family, Copper has all the potential to blossom into a devoted, loving companion. He may need a little more time than some dogs to show you who he is, but once he does, the bond you build with him will be incredibly special.
